Laminate floors are multi-layered synthetic flooring product fused together with a lamination process.  It simulates wood or sometimes stones, with photograpic applique layer under a clear protective layer.

This type of flooring has grown in popularity because it is easier to install and to maintain than more traditional surfaces.  It also cost less compared to hardwood floors and because it is usually designed for light domestic use, may be less durable than more conventional flooring.
